In November the Department for Education launched a new document: Keeping Children Safe, Helping Families Thrive outlines the government’s commitment to keeping families together and children safe.
This document is centred on social care, focusing on enhancing child safety and family support.
It also emphasises the importance of strengthening partnership working with education settings.
Oldham Safeguarding Children Partnership considered the policy and practice implications on this new DfE guidance at their Development day on 21st January 2025. The slides from our development day summarise the statutory guidance, changes and outline the timescales.
